A LETTER FROM KATE COHEN, MRS. PENNSYLVANIA US 2009

Dear Prospective Contestant:

There is so much to be gained by participating in the Mrs. Pennsylvania United States Pageant this coming year.  This pageant and pageant system is a truly valuable and unique opportunity to push yourself to be your best and then enjoy your time to shine onstage.   Whether you have set a goal to improve upon your physical fitness, interview skills, or confidence, you’ll find rewards for your efforts.

After 18 years as a pageant competitor, local committee member, and judge, I have to say that I found last year’s pageant to be well-organized, fair, and a great deal of fun.   The group of women who competed was comprised of wives of all ages and backgrounds, mothers, and professionals with amazing life stories to share.  I truly cherish the time we spent together laughing and talking backstage; honestly, I can’t recall having this kind of camaraderie at any other pageant.

For pageant veterans, I think you’ll find this experience professionally run and above and beyond any other Mrs. State pageant.  The theater alone is spectacular!  For first-time contestants, Siouxzan will be there for you every step of the way to offer guidance as you prepare.  I also have to add that the prizes are fantastic!

When you obtain your local title, it will open doors to pursue your interests throughout your community and really make a difference with the issues with which you are concerned.  I can attest that is true as a State titleholder, as well.  I have had a wonderful year, thus far, working with Siouxzan Moore, representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and striving to maintain State Arts funding.  Competing at the Mrs. United States Pageant in Las Vegas was the icing on the cake.

I encourage you to take this opportunity to be your best self and compete for the crown of Mrs. Pennsylvania United States 2010!

Please visit my blog at http://mrspennsylvaniaunitedstates2009.blogspot.com/ to see what my year has been like, and feel free to contact me with your questions.

You can do it!

Wishing you the best,
Kate Cohen
